Platinum Jubilee in Debden
Logan Armour and Noah Poulter, both 15, have been presented with silver bugles after playing the bugle call ‘Majesty’ to herald the lighting of Debden's Jubilee beacon.
The bugles, a personal gift from the Queen’s Jubilee Pageantmaster Bruno Peak LVO OBE OPR were presented by Councillor April Gardner, vice-chair of Debden Parish Council, and Richard Cawte, Professional Toastmaster and Master of Ceremonies for the lighting ceremony.
There are plans to make the village's new 25ft beacon a permanent feature.
Villagers have been preparing Jubilee celebrations for more than a year including building the official steel Jubilee Beacon Brazier. Residents and businesses donated their time, construction materials and workmanship.

Crafts for the Platinum Jubilee
Four care homes had great fun making and decorating Jubilee displays through Arts Society Saffron Walden.
They were all given Jubilee craft packs which enabled them to decorate red, white and blue frames.
They could add pictures of the Queen throughout her 70-year reign or put their own photos or pictures in the frames.
The care homes involved were Hatherley and Stanley Wilson Lodge in Saffron Walden, Humfrey Lodge in Thaxted and Moat House in Great Easton.
