A Saffron Walden church has sent parcels of food to two charities helping vulnerable people in celebration of this year's autumn harvest.
Abbey Lane United Reformed Church held a collection for the Uttlesford Foodbank and Jimmy's Cambridge homelessness shelter.
The collection coincided with the church's 2021 Harvest Thanksgiving on Sunday, October 10.
Elfreda Tealby-Watson, an Elder at the church, said: "We had a fantastic response from our members to our appeal for groceries and toiletries for the Uttlesford Foodbank and Jimmy’s Cambridge.
"Both groups were very appreciative of our donations.
"We want to thank our members, and also the Foodbank and Jimmy’s for the work they do on behalf of our communities all year round, not just at Harvest Time."
The Uttlesford Foodbank is an organisation which provides emergency food to people across the district.
Jimmy's is a 24-hour shelter and support service for people facing homelessness throughout the city.
