A parade to say farewell to 101 (City of London) Engineer Regiment (EOD) and to welcome 35 Engineer Regiment was held at Carver Barracks at the weekend.
The headquarters of 101 (City of London) Engineer Regiment (EOD) will re-locate to London this summer whilst a new EOD regiment, 35 Engineer Regiment, will form at the Wimbish barracks.
35 Engineer Regiment was previously a close support engineer regiment based in Germany.
In a new beginning for the regiment, it is being reformed at Carver Barracks and will take on the explosive ordinance disposal and search role. This will include route clearance as part of the wider explosive ordinance disposal capability.
101 (City of London) Engineer Regiment (EOD) forms part of 29 EOD and Search Group and has been based in Carver Barracks since 2010. During that time, it has deployed personnel on a number of overseas operations, including to Iraq and Afghanistan.
