A pop-up community hub is coming to Saffron Walden next week as part of the Great Winter Get Together.
Hosted by Saffron Walden Town Council, UCAN and Enterprise East CIC, the hub will take place at the Garden Room, Jubilee Garden on Tuesday, January 24.
The Great Winter Get Together runs from January 16 to 29, and is set up by The Jo Cox Foundation to celebrate the places where people can go to connect this winter.
With the cost of living crisis making it difficult for people to access their usual social activities, places like the Garden Room - where people can chat and get to know others - will play a vital role in alleviating loneliness.
The pop-up community hub will be open from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, with tea, coffee and homemade cakes available in a warm, friendly and inclusive environment.
A selection of community partners will be on hand for information and an informal chat. They will cover health and wellbeing, living in food poverty, youth provision, loneliness and isolation, winter warmth issues and more.
A town council spokesperson said: "Opening The Garden Room for this pop-up event, will see the venue space used positively whilst connecting the communit."
