A free pop-up cinema which ran in Saffron Walden during half term has been hailed as a success.
The cinema was organised by Saffron Walden Town Council and was held at Saffron Walden Baptist Church.
Four films were screened in one day - starting with Chicken Run and ending with Top Gun: Maverick - with a full surround sound system, a 16' x 9' screen, comfortable chairs and free popcorn available.
Members of the public who attended gave positive feedback, with one saying:"Such a lovely experience - I could not afford to go to a cinema as bills and food prices are so high, so I am very grateful for this opportunity to see a great film. Thank you."

Another said: "Wonderful idea and great it’s for adults as well as the kids."
A town council spokesperson said: "It was great working together with Rev. John Goddard to bring this event to the residents of Saffron Walden.
"A big thank you to UCAN [Uttlesford Community Action Network] – who coordinated volunteers throughout the day – and a special thank you to Cllr Richard Freeman and Uttlesford District Council; funding allocated from his New Homes Bonus made this free event possible."
