Singing nuns took to the stage at Saffron Walden Town Hall for six sold-out performances of Sister Act - a musical based on the hit 1992 film starring Whoopi Goldberg.
The production, put on by Saffron Walden Musical Theatre Company, starred Gemma Alexander as disco diva Deloris Van Cartier, who witnesses a murder and is put under protective custody in a convent.
One audience member described the performance as "an absolutely wonderful, uplifting and mesmerising show", while another said: "Why pay West End prices when it's on our doorstep?"
