A gully has been installed in Wendens Ambo to address a long-running flooding problem.
The B1383/Station Approach frequently flooded due to a small pavement gully which was unable to cope with heavy rainfall.
Essex Highways have now installed a large gully to allow water to drain from the junction.
Cllr Paul Gadd, who represents Saffron Walden at Essex County Council, said: "I’m grateful to the Essex Highways drainage team for doing this work.

"Together we’ve managed to solve almost all of the long-standing drainage and flooding issues which have affected the Saffron Walden Division for many years, if not decades.
"Despite the lack of funding for Essex Highways drainage operations, it shows what we can achieve when residents work for each other."
