Saffron Walden Rotary raised more than £9,000 with a charity golf day.

Held at Saffron Walden Golf Club, 76 golfers braved appalling weather conditions to compete in a friendly competition - won by local golfers Steve French, Grant Kingston, Luke Kingston and Tim Miller.

Proceeds will be used to support the Rotary Club's charity work.

The main sponsor for the day was estate agent Cheffins, with many other local businesses sponsoring holes, donating tombola prizes and auction lots, and providing refreshments.
