Saffron Building Society has opened its Saffron Community Fund grant application process for the second time this year - the first double annual grant-giving in its 11-year history.
The Saffron Community Fund is run in partnership with Essex Community Foundation (ECF), and provides grants to charities, community groups and volunteer organisations across the East of England.
Claire Hunnable, Community Business Partner at Saffron Building Society, said: "We are delighted to be able to offer a second round of grant-giving this year.
"The Saffron Community Fund was set up to support our communities with projects that have a positive direct impact on their local areas.
"Since its inception, the Saffron Community Fund has given away £169,303 and supported 68 organisations.

"Given the cost of living crisis and the direct impact that’s having on local charities, we took the decision to open the fund twice throughout 2023 to further extend our support."
The application window is open with immediate effect and will close at the end of June.
ECF chief executive Caroline Taylor said: "We encourage local groups to contact us with their funding needs and spread the word that this support is available."
