A national garden scheme organiser from Saffron Walden has been nominated to receive an MBE in the King's Birthday Honours.
Susan Copeland, 77, has been the county organiser for the Essex National Garden Scheme since 2007, and East of England National Garden Scheme regional chairman for the past nine years.
She currently lives in Langley Upper Green, near Saffron Walden, and was nominated for services to heritage and charity.
Ms Copeland has been also opening her garden, at Wickets, for the National Garden Scheme since 1996.

She said: "I love my roles with the National Garden Scheme and I was overwhelmed when I learnt of my inclusion in the King’s 2023 Birthday Honours List.
"I am honoured to receive this MBE award as I hope it will help to highlight the wonderful work of all the National Garden Scheme volunteers around the country who support our efforts to raise funds for nursing and caring charities."
