Quendon and Rickling village hall has been elevated to community hub status.
The village hall committee applied to Broadband provider Gigaclear for a free full fibre broadband connection as part of the company's scheme to create community hubs.
The hall hosts a range of classes and clubs, with regular users including a community café and the parish council.

Hall trustee Sonia Michaelides said: "Having access to ultrafast broadband will help make us stand out as an attractive proposition for potential new users. It also opens up new opportunities, with events such as film nights now a possibility.
"In the past, we’ve received enquiries from people looking to use the hall but when they discovered we didn’t have broadband they went elsewhere. Hopefully that won’t be the case anymore."
