Budding business owners are invited to take part in Start-Up September, a new initiative from Uttlesford District Council to support residents and the local economy.

The council has partnered with industry experts, including the award-winning Rebel Business School, to offer a month of training, business coaching and webinars.

A new business start-up grant will also be made available.

The month will start with the Rebel Business School's two-week live online course, which offers practical advice in building your confidence and getting your business off the ground.

The Consortium will make eight hours of one-to-one and group business coach sessions available for residents who have a new business idea or have recently started a business.

Cllr Neil Hargreaves, portfolio holder for finance and the economy, said: "We have a thriving business community in Uttlesford, made up of innovative micro businesses, and this campaign is aimed at inspiring budding entrepreneurs.

"Uttlesford has been named as the best district in the UK for women to start a business and we are keen to help support and develop their plans, so one of our three business coaching programmes is for a female only group."

All courses and activities are fully funded by the council for Uttlesford residents.
