A consultation will be launched later this week for Uttlesford residents to have their say on the draft Local Plan.
The consultation opens on Friday, November 3, and the closing date for responses is Friday, December 15.
Residents can read the draft Local Plan and give feedback via the website at www.uttlesford.gov.uk/new-local-plan.
The plan details allocations for around 6,000 new additional homes, with development proposed in Great Dunmow, Newport, Saffron Walden, Stansted Mountfitchet, Takeley and Thaxted, along with some non-strategic development in larger villages.
Proposals seek to ensure that future development preserves and enhances the experience of existing communities, while ensuring that 35 per cent of the homes built are affordable homes.
