Families took part in free lantern-making workshops ahead of Saffron Walden's Christmas lights switch-on.

Toddlers and grandparents alike made and decorated their own lanterns in preparation for the annual lantern parade and lights switch-on on Friday, November 17.
Mayor Cllr Heather Asker joined in the fun along with cast members of Saffron Players' 2024 pantomime, Red Riding Hood, which will be held at the Town Hall in January.
The town council thanked workshop volunteers Saffron Walden Lions Club, UCAN, Trilby Roberts, Cllr Jeanette Curtis, Cllr Denise Jones, Cllr Richard Porch and Cllr Alex Reeve for their time and enthusiasm.
