Businesses were surprised with prizes for their festive shop windows at the Winstanley Christmas Business and Shop Window Awards.
Trophies, certificate and gifts were presented on Monday, December 11 by members of Saffron Walden Initiative and Mayor Cllr Heather Asker.
Cole's Menswear in King Street was awarded the Town Trophy, which was received by Charlotte Mundy and Ryan Mead, who said it was a "brilliant start" to their Monday morning.
Second place went to Frank Riccio Hairdressing in Market Row, while Snow Walker in High Street came third.
The Market House in Market Hill, Authentic Turkish Barbers in Cross Street and Eden Lake in Hill Street were all highly commended.

This has been the sixth year of the window competition, which is named after 17th century poet, journalist and historian William Winstanley, known as the 'man who saved Christmas'. The competition is sponsored by Saffron Hall.
Jacqui Portway from Saffron Walden Initiative said: "The Initiative would like to applaud everyone for taking part, the standard is amazing.
"We wish everyone a Christmas and Happy New Year.
"Saffron Walden looks wonderful with beautiful lights, a Christmas tree, many activities, markets and lots of interesting independent shops - truly an interesting destination and a great place to live."
