Families in Saffron Walden are being invited to hop aboard a miniature train in Audley End woodland this Easter to meet the Easter Bunny and several farmyard friends.

From Friday, March 29 to Sunday, April 14, families can immerse themselves in the spring season, complete with sightings of blooming flowers and colourful eggs at the Audley End Miniature Railway.

All participating children will receive a springtime souvenir at the end of the ride.

After disembarking, visitors will meet a life-sized fairy, who will help them plant flowers.

Guests can then take part in an Easter Egg hunt to discover hidden fairy and elf homes around the wood.

There will also be an on-stage presentation featuring Violet the Flower Fairy, who will spread the joys of spring.

Visitors can unwind in the picnic field, where children can let off steam in the adventure play area.

The Woodland Café will provide food and refreshments throughout the day, with special Easter treats on the menu.

Owner Amanda Murray, who runs Audley End Miniature Railway, said: "Spring is such a special time in our enchanted woods and families can look forward to a jam-packed, memory making day out in the great outdoors seeing nature at its finest.

"Our family attraction is celebrating 60 years this year, and we are bursting with pride and joy.

"Come and join us for a magical miniature train ride, sit back and enjoy the live show and spend precious family time together."

There will also be a competition, offering winners four tickets to the Easter event as well as an EcoSplash Waterproof Jacket valued at £55 - with details released on social media.

The winner will be announced on Thursday, March 21.

Tickets cost £20 for adults and children, however it's £10 for children under 92cm.

Prices reduce from April 4 to 14, with adults and children tickets at £18.50, and entry for children under 92cm at £9.25.
