Three fundraisers are preparing to take on the Brighton Marathon in aid of Accuro, a charity which supports people with disabilities in West Essex.
Accuro (Care Services) helps children, young people and adults with disabilities across Uttlesford by providing fun, safe and inclusive activities.
Mike Williams, founder of MW Fitness in Bishop's Stortford and personal trainer Callum Rayner are running the Brighton Marathon together on Sunday, April 7 to raise funds for the charity.
With the help of fellow personal trainer Luke Fishpool - the former chief patron at The Lemon Tree restaurant - the pair organised a charity cook-along on Friday, March 8.
All proceeds went towards their fundraising total, so far raising three-quarters of their £1,200 target.
The third runner is Alex Winstanley, head of service management and busine
ss partnering at investment management company Brooks Macdonald.
Alex has volunteered at Accuro clubs in the past, and has already raised £750, smashing his original target of £600 - which has now gone up to £1,000.
As part of his fundraising, Alex is also taking on a trail half marathon in Snowdonia.
He said: "I'm delighted to be supporting Accuro by running Brighton Marathon knowing that the money raised will directly make a difference.
"I've seen first hand, as a former volunteer, the impact donations have, such as day trips out.
"Knowing every penny raised will put smiles on their faces and help make things like that happen, makes the pain all the worth it."
