Children took part in creative experiments as part of an Easter STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and maths) session.
The event was hosted by Sandra Beale, who runs sessions from her home in Saffron Walden.
Eight children took part, ranging from 12 months to nine years old.
Sandra said: "We had fun creating a forest and village maze followed by fizzing writing and colour spreading hearts.
"The other experiments included an uncooked egg standing in salt, floating feathers and flying chickens."
Early Years resources were provided by Yellow Door in Cambridge, with the cost of materials funded by STEM Point in Stevenage and Inner Wheel in Saffron Walden.
Sandra initially started the sessions nine years ago to entertain her middle son when he was nine months old.
For the past three years, Sandra has been participating in BBC STEM Science Season with a presentation on her work with young children.
She has also organised an early years STEAM campaign to raise funds for Children in Need, run sessions with infants classes and at Saffron Walden Museum and the Cambridge Science Centre.
Her sessions have previously been nominated at the Cambridge Science and Technology Awards.
