The popular Saffron Walden Crank Up, a steam and vintage vehicle show, is geared up for its third run at the former RAF Debden.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28.

Admission is £7.50 for adults with free entry for accompanied children under 16.

The show was started by late vintage vehicle enthusiast Paul Engelmann in the early 1970s at his Shire Hill home.

Since 2015, it has been organised by volunteers for the East Anglian Traction Engine Society - a registered charity.

Visitors can see a variety of steam engines, both full-size and miniature, many of which served people around Saffron Walden.

The year's show will display working steam exhibits alongside machinery such as balers and wood-sawing equipment.

As well as steam engines, visitors can see vintage tractors, stationary engines and other vehicles, many of which come from the area.

There will also be funfair rides, including the Rule family's 1893 steam-driven carousel and German Chair-o-plane ride.

Music will be provided by traditional mechanical organs, and there will be trade and craft stalls, a licensed bar and refreshments.

Attendees can bring their own food and have a picnic while enjoying the show.

Gates open daily at 10am with ample free parking.
