A self-guided 'Sonnet Walk' around Saffron Walden will take place to celebrate William Shakespeare's 460th birthday.
The innovative and immersive Shakespeare Sonnet Walk, will be held from 11am to 3.30pm on Saturday, April 20.
Organised by Saffron Walden Town Council (SWTC), the event starts at the Swan Meadow Maze, one of four mazes in the town.
The maze in Swan Meadow Care Park was constructed in 2016 by the Saffron Walden Initiative.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore the town's gardens, mazes and thoroughfares, while being entertained by a mixed troupe of minstrels, actors, and poets reciting Shakespeare's sonnets.
The walk is expected to last a minimum of one hour with start times available between 11am and 2.30pm.
Tickets are available at https://www.visitsaffronwalden.gov.uk/product/shakespeare-sonnet-walk/.
The even is open to everyone, but attendees should buy their tickets in advance due to high demand.
