FRIENDS of Victoria Square has announced they will host a plant and cake sale in the community garden of Victoria Square on Saturday, May 11.

The group, which is dedicated to the upkeep and maintenance of Victoria Square next to All Saints Church, Penarth, has stated that the event is a crucial aspect of their fundraising efforts.

The sale, taking place from 10am to 12pm, will feature a variety of plants and seedlings at affordable prices, alongside a selection of cakes and beverages.

Previously, Friends of Victoria Square relied on grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund to enhance the square's ecology and biodiversity.

However, this grant has now been fully utilised.

Therefore, the group now depends on fundraising activities to maintain and provide care for the area.

Altogether, the plant and cake sale will prove important for the continuation of the group's activities, which includes planting and other maintenance tasks.

Donations of plants and cakes are very welcome and interested participants are advised to call 07933 077 459 for more details.

All proceeds will contribute to maintaining Victoria Square.
