The Benedetti Foundation is bringing string workshops to Saffron Walden this autumn.
The sessions will take place at Saffron Hall from October 4 to 6, and will offer workshops for young string players of all ages, with another workshop running alongside for string teachers.
Courses include:
- Introductory String Orchestra (open strings – Grade 1) – Sunday, October 6
- Beginner String Players (Grade 1 – 3) – Saturday, October 5
- Intermediate String Players (Grade 4 – 6) – Saturday 5 & Sunday, October 6
- Advanced String Players (Grade 7+) – Saturday 5 & Sunday, October 6
- Instrumental Teachers (a professional development weekend) – Saturday 5 & Sunday, October 6
- Primary School Classes – Friday, October 4
Grades denote an approximate playing level, and no formal qualifications need to have been taken.
Registration for the courses closes on July 31, and spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The sessions will be led by violinist Nicola Benedetti, along with a team of tutors.
Beginner, intermediate and advanced orchestras will also come together to work on a new arrangement for three string orchestras.
Primary school workshops will be led by presenter Lucy Drever and percussionist Calum Huggan.
