An unmarked grave in Saffron Walden is set to be marked with a headstone after an American with the same surname got in touch.
Henry Joseph Hussey is buried at Compartment 6, Grace Space 39 at Radwinter Road cemetery.
The cemetery officer at Saffron Walden Town Council was recently contacted by a Mr C. Hussey, who lives in Alabama, and has expressed an interest in the grave.
Mr C. Hussey wrote: "I love history and while studying the great English shotgun makers like Purdey, Woodward, Lang, etc. have come across the name Henry Joseph Hussey.
"H. J. Hussey was certainly in this company in the early 1900s and he is buried at SW Cemetery.

"His grave is currently unmarked and, as we bear the same surname, it would be my desire to mark the grave with a headstone."
Mr C. Hussey has been in touch with H. J. Hussey's great-grandson, Peter Hussey, who is in agreement with the placing of the headstone.
If you are related to the Hussey family, or have an interest in the ownership of the grave of H. J. Hussey, please make contact with the cemetery officer Elaine Baynes to discuss on 07769 167 179 or email elaine@saffronwalden.gov.uk.
