St Clare Hospice is set to host its annual 'Walking in Memory' event with an additional route for 2024 in Saffron Walden.

The 5k sponsored walk, now in its sixth year, is the hospice's premier fundraising event and is slated to be bigger than ever.

The event aims to bring the community and families together, offering a way to remember lost loved ones and fundraise for those who provide round-the-clock care and support.

With limited NHS funding, St Clare relies on community contributions to continue helping families going through a challenging time.

Amy Winehouse, head of relationships fundraising, said: "We are excited to announce an extra route this year.

"As well as our flagship walk through Hastingwood we will also be adding a walk starting from The Common in Saffron Walden, one of the most picturesque towns in Essex.

"Steeped in history this new route is a great addition to our Walking in Memory fundraiser."

The route will begin at 11am at The Common in Saffron Walden on Sunday, September 22, with participants asked to gather from 10am.
