A Saffron Walden family is raising money for a charity which supported their son Huey, who suffers from a life-threatening heart defect.
Huey Angell was born in November 2021 with hypoplastic left heart syndrome.
His parents Tom and Arabella, who lived in London at the time, spent the first six months of his life at the Brompton Hospital, where Huey had two life-saving open heart surgeries.
During this stay, the family was under the care of the Brompton Fountain charity, which helps fund new equipment for the hospital - as well as hospital dogs, live music and a dedicated play team to help make hospital stays more bearable for babies like Huey and their families.
Following Huey's traumatic start, the family relocated to Saffron Walden with Huey and their other children, seven-year-old Rex and five-year-old Sadie.
This year, the Angell family decided to bring their fundraising efforts for the Brompton Fountain to their new hometown.
On Sunday, August 25, they hosted the Love Heart Disco at the Riverside Barns in Ickleton, with the venue donated by owner Lewis Boxer.
Guests enjoyed DJs, pizza, a magician, a craft corner, a raffle and a jewellery stand by the Cambridge Makers studio in Linton - with friends and family travelling to attend the event.
On Monday, August 26, the family hosted a charity cricket match at Saffron Walden Cricket Club, the use of which was donated by club director David Barrs.
Huey's dad Tom and Huey's godfather faced off against each other on opposing teams.
Tom said: "We were blessed with perfect weather, friends and families assembled on the boundary, and most importantly, my team won - although there are plenty of sore limbs now."

Tom added: "During our long term stay in the hospital, the charity did so much to support Huey and our family.
"We’re expecting to raise over £3k from this weekend’s efforts.
"This is especially important as Huey is due to have another major open heart surgery at the end of the year, so we will be once again benefitting from the charity’s wonderful support."
