Christmas events organised by Saffron Walden Town Council will be sponsored by McCarthy Stone for the second year running.

McCarthy Stone is sponsoring the free lantern-making workshops on Saturday, November 9 and Saturday, November 16, as well as the lantern parade and light switch-on on Friday, November 22.

Ciara Foley, senior marketing executive for McCarthy Stone London and South East, said: "With our local presence in Jacob Place, a beautiful development of one and two bedroom apartments designed exclusively for the over 60s in Saffron Walden, we welcome the opportunity of working with Saffron Walden Town Council over the coming years, supporting the community work it does."

Several other businesses have also pledged their support, as has Saffron Walden BID.

Other upcoming Christmas events include Fayre in the Square on Sunday, November 24, and a chance to meet Father Christmas in his grotto on Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8.

Saffron Walden Town Council's events and activities officer Colette Kerr said: "We are extremely grateful for the support received from local businesses, enabling the continued accessibility of community events for all to enjoy."
