Babies lost too soon were remembered at a community Wave of Light in Saffron Walden.

More than 100 pink, blue, white and gold ribbons were added to the bandstand in Jubilee Gardens on Tuesday, October 15 to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week.

Around 50 people then attended a candlelit vigil, which was part of the Wave of Light movement taking place across the country.

"I am heartened that people were drawn to remember their baby in this way, but saddened that it shows just how common baby loss is amongst the town’s residents.

"The Wave of Light itself was a poignant moment, with people who had lost babies decades ago joining those more recently bereaved, sharing stories, thoughts and remembering together."

The event raised money for baby loss charity Petals, and donations are still open at justgiving.com/page/saffronwaldenwaveoflight.
