Stansted care home residents joined forces with primary school pupils to celebrate Harvest Festival.

The residents of Mountfitchet House sang songs and read poems with the children from Magna Carta Primary Academy.

They also watched a virtual church service to learn about the origins of the festival, what it means for today's society and why this long-standing tradition should not be forgotten.

Residents and team members at Mountfitchet House also launched a foodbank drop off point to collect food from the community, which was then donated to Uttlesford Foodbank.

Resident Lilian Holmes said: "The morning was absolutely lovely, and seeing the children sing and read was truly special. They were so clever and brave for reading to all of us."
