The Bloods came into the fixture at Hargrave Park on the back of a 1-0 home win over Romford.
And it took a penalty 12 minutes into the second half to split the two near neighbours, Charlie Cole scoring for another success by the same score.
For the Airportmen, it was their third game in a row without a win, the previous outing against Redbridge also ending in a 1-0 defeat.
And this result leaps Walden above their hosts, putting them 10th to Stansted's 11th.
Takeley are two points and and two places above the Catons Lane side having played two games less.
A 4-1 win on Friday night away to Buckhurst Hill made it four wins on the bounce.
They had to respond to conceding a seventh minute goal to their hosts but Jack Martin, Jordan Westcott and Kieran Southgate made it 3-1 by half-time with Bryn Thorpe wrapping it up in the second half.

High Easter were beaten 4-0 at home to Atletico Maldon in the Chelmsford Sunday League Premier Division.
Stand-in keeper Rory Mercer was having a good game, pulling off several decent saves, but a goal just before half-time gave the visitors the lead and they with injuries meaning Easter finished the game with 10, Maldon took full advantage.
