One of Saffron Walden's Australian contingent helped guide them to a first success of the season in the East Anglian Premier League.
Brynn Mendel hit a 69-ball 88, including seven sixes, as Walden beat Copdock & Old Ipswichians by five wickets.
They had won the toss and opted to bowl, with 3-35 from Ali Hancock seemingly making that a wise decision.
He was aided by 2-24 from Ashleigh Cox and 2-48 for Oliver Rae but 92 not out from Jacob Marston allowed COI to reach 200-9.
In reply, SWCC found themselves in trouble at 52-4 but a 134 run partnership between Finn Karsten (53) and Mendel rushed the visitors to victory with 12 overs remaining.
Skipper Josh Down said: "I’m delighted to get our first win of the season and also my first as captain.
"We’ve played pretty well in all three games we’ve played so far in the league and cup so I’m pleased with our consistency.
"And I'm hoping we continue to progress in the coming weeks, starting at home to Swardeston on Saturday."
The seconds added to the winning feeling by beating Godmanchester Town by six wickets.
Steven Atherton's 4-18 and 108 not out from Tom Bonham meant Walden needed only 25 overs to get their 179 for victory.
The thirds couldn't make it a clean sweep though as they lost away to Cambourne by three wickets, Jon Buck (3-34) and Ben Rae (3-10) the pick of their bowlers.
However, there was no joy for either the seconds on Sunday, or the women & girls for that matter.
The twos were beaten by just three runs at home to North London in the ECB National Club Championship Cup.
The visitors had set them 237 to win and a lower order comeback and 53 from Stanley Leech gave them hope before leaving them agonisingly close.
The W&G side meanwhile lost to Copdock & Old Ipswichians.
